أتنقّل بين التصميم والفن والتنسيق الفني، وأبحث في الثقافة والذاكرة والمكان، وفي الطرق التي تتجسّد بها بصريًا

I work across design, art and curation, exploring culture, memory, place and the ways they become visual.

حبل إلی السماء
One Thread to The Sky

Mardin, Turkiye
2020

In summer 2020, when all public gatherings were restricted, meaning public expression was effectively banned — Some obeyed, and others couldn't stay away from their playgrounds.

In Mardin (southeastern Turkiye), at 1083m above sea level, kids celebrated a flying kites festival every summer — except that one in 2020.

Some took refuge on rooftops, in hopes of a little wind to help that one thread reach the sky, like it used to.

Ablution

Mardin, Turkiye
2020

In Mardin, I found something familiar in a place I thought I did not know.

The mosque stood with the grandeur of the old city, yet felt open and welcoming. Its courtyard held prayer, play and everyday life side by side.

A wall covered in calligraphy welcoming a pilgrim home from Mecca brought me back to Mdaghra, on the outskirts of Errachidia. I remember our neighbours gathering at our house to paint the same kind of greetings on the walls, waiting to welcome my father home from his pilgrimage.

Thousands of kilometres apart, the gesture was the same. What seemed unfamiliar became a reminder of what we share, carried through the simple ways people gather, welcome and live together.

Abandon
Fethiye, Turkiye
2020

An abandoned hotel in Fethiye, still holding on to the traces of the life it was built for.

The architecture caught me first: endless balconies, stairways, white façades and the remains of a waterpark. The pool was still full, as if waiting for guests who never came back.

So many balconies, yet nobody looking out.

The photographs linger on this strange pause, where everything remains in place except the people. What was built for leisure and togetherness has become a quiet landscape of absence.
